“Offerings” (2023)
Glazed pottery, acrylic on wood

A ceramic sculpture of a platter of ceramic dumplings, in the colors of the pride flag. Each dumpling has a hole on the top to be used as a small flower vase or an incense holder. It is a reimagining of the traditional offerings that are placed at altars for ancestors/those who passed to eat in the afterlife. Ceramic is meant to last for millennials and this will be there for the queer Asian people who passed to have forever.

A pride month art show at Under the Umbrella aimed to showcase the beauty and diversity of our queer community through a wide range of mediums and mixed media. To explore themes related to personal experiences, identity, and activism.

On display from June 17 to June 30, 2023.
